The iDevice Manager is a type of iTunes replacement software which aims to replace and improve some of the functionality offered by the official iTunes program on Windows. While iTunes is relatively buggy and bogged down, iDevice Manager manages to add a bunch of extra functionality, though it does rely heavily on iTunes, which is required in order for this software to function.

While there are several different programs available which can add and remove music and video from iPods, iPhones and iPads, iDevice Manager adds extra functionality by giving you the power to synchronize SMS messages and access email messages directly from your phone. iDevice Manager also gives you access to the root filesystem, which is extremely handy when you know what you're doing.

You should also be aware that by accessing the root filesystem on your iDevice, you definitely should be careful as making changes can cause damage to your device and even possibly brick it.

Another feature of iDevice Manager is it gives you full access to your media, allowing you to listen to music and watch movies stored on the iPad/iPhone.

The ringtone creator for iPhone is also a handy feature which allows you to create mobile ringtones from WAV and MP3 audio files while bypassing the 32-second limit imposed by official Apple software.

In the end, iDevice Manager is extremely powerful and has an ambitious mission, though you are likely to run into bugs on the way.

Program supports Apple iOS 3.1.x, 4.x and 5.0 firmware devices; iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad; iPhone 4S, 4, 3GS, 3G, 2G; iPod Touch 4G, 3G, 2G, 1G; iTunes 10.

iDevice Manager can transfer files between phone and PC, synchronize phone data, synchronize iPhone and synchronize iPad.
